Day 0: Arrival in Lima

Welcome to Lima and Peru!

Upon your arrival in Lima, our local guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you to our hotel in the most beautiful area of ​​Lima, Miraflores.

Depending on what time you arrive in Lima, there will be free time to relax.

Overnight stay: Miraflores, Lima

Day 1: Lima to Puerto Maldonado (Amazon)

After breakfast, you will take a domestic flight from Lima to Puerto Maldonado to explore the Amazon rainforest and its unique biodiversity. Upon arrival, your driver will meet you and take you to the lodge, where you can enjoy lunch and some time to relax before your first excursion.

Then, you will set out on your first jungle adventure, guided through 60 hectares of Brazil nut concession that Corto Maltés Amazonia conserves. Along the way, you will learn about tropical trees, medicinal plants, and the fascinating ecosystem. You will also visit a shiringuero camp, a replica of a traditional rubber-collecting camp, where you will see how latex is harvested and its various uses. The trek lasts around two hours.

Afterward, you can unwind by the pool or relax in the hammocks on your bungalow terrace. In the evening, you will embark on a nocturnal boat trip to observe caimans and possibly other wildlife along the riverbanks. Your day will end with a delicious dinner in the riverside dining room.

Day 2: Puerto Maldonado (Amazon)

You’ll wake up early for coffee or tea before heading to Lake Sandoval. Your guide will provide breakfast and snacks for the excursion. At 6:00 am, you’ll embark on a 20-minute journey along the Madre de Dios River to reach the landing stage of Lake Sandoval. From there, you’ll hike 3 km through the lush Tambopata National Reserve, encountering giant trees, monkeys (squirrel, howler, and capuchin), various snakes, and a range of birdlife, including Hoatzins, kingfishers, and snakebirds. Once you reach the lake, you’ll board rowboats in search of giant river otters, stopping to enjoy your breakfast at an ideal observation spot.

Afterward, you’ll return to the pier and head back to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll visit one of the two lookout towers at Corto Maltés Amazonía, offering excellent birdwatching and wildlife views from 20 and 42 meters high, along with a stunning sunset. You’ll also visit a Brazil nut camp, learning about this important local industry. Afterward, you’ll have free time to relax by the pool, enjoy a massage, or cool off at the bar. The day ends with dinner in the riverside dining room.

Day 3: Puerto Maldonado (Amazon) to Cusco

You’ll wake up at 5:30 am for some coffee or tea before setting off on a 20-minute walk to the clay lick, where you’ll have the chance to observe 3 to 5 types of parrots. These colorful birds come to the clay lick to ingest a special kind of clay, found only in certain areas of this region. This clay is crucial for their metabolic regulation, and witnessing this vibrant and exciting natural event is truly a unique experience.

At 8:00 am, you’ll enjoy breakfast, followed by some free time to relax. After breakfast, you’ll make your way back to the city of Puerto Maldonado by boat. Upon arrival at the port, one of our vehicles will meet you for a short drive to the local market, where the community shops for food and other products. You’ll have a brief 20-minute visit to experience the typical products of the area.

Next, you’ll head to the airport for your internal flight to Cusco.

Upon arrival in this captivating city, your local guide will be there to welcome you. You’ll then head straight to your transfer vehicle for a ride to your hotel in the Sacred Valley, where you can relax and acclimatize. During the trip, you’ll make a stop at “Manos de la Comunidad,” a tourist refuge and museum of South American camelids and Inca textiles, where you can see and buy local crafts, feed the camelids, take photos, appreciate the majesty of the Andean condor, and caress the soft fur of the camelids.

Day 4: Sacred Valley – transfer to Aguas Calientes

Early in the morning, you’ll begin your journey to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, an area rich in history and culture. You’ll visit the town of Pisac and its famous craft market, where you can shop and experience local traditions. After admiring the impressive Pisac archaeological park, you’ll continue along the Vilcanota River, passing through charming villages to Urubamba for a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll explore the Ollantaytambo Fortress and its ancient streets before heading to the train station to board the Expedition Train to Aguas Calientes. This scenic train ride offers stunning views of mountains and lush vegetation. Upon arrival, you’ll transfer to your hotel to rest before your visit to Machu Picchu the following day.

Day 5: Uncover the Magic of Machu Picchu

Your journey begins as you head towards Machu Picchu, one of the most famous and impressive destinations in the world. Upon reaching the Machu Picchu citadel, the stunning landscapes and majestic Inca architecture will leave you speechless. Every step along the stone pathways and every corner of the citadel reveals a new, breathtaking view. This experience at Machu Picchu, one of the New 7 Wonders of the Modern World, is an unforgettable exploration of the past that comes to life before you.

After the visit, you’ll enjoy a meal to regain your energy. You’ll then board the Expedition train, soaking in the enchanting views as you make your way back to Cusco. Your day will conclude with a return to your hotel, filled with memories from an experience that will forever remain etched in your heart.

Day 6: Free Day at Cusco

Cusco, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, offers plenty to explore. Get ready for an exciting half-day tour of Cusco.

Your day starts at the beautiful Plaza de Armas, the heart of the city, where you'll visit the impressive Cathedral. Next, you'll walk to the Korikancha Temple, an ancient and magnificent Inca palace dedicated to the Sun God. Today, on this site, stands a Dominican church, combining religious tradition with architectural heritage. Finally, you'll explore the charming San Blas neighborhood, known for its artistic atmosphere, unique shops, and artisan workshops that showcase the local tradition. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure, soaking in the enchanting atmosphere of the city and tasting the flavors of traditional cuisine.

For a beautiful view of the city, head to the Mirador de San Cristóbal for a wonderful perspective of Cusco and the surrounding mountains.

Day 7: Rainbow Mountain

Between 4:00 and 4:20 a.m., your local guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco to embark on an incredible adventure to the southern region of the Andes. After a scenic drive of approximately 2 hours, you’ll reach the town of Cusipata, where you’ll enjoy a delicious continental breakfast at a local restaurant.

You’ll then continue your journey for another 1.5 hours until you reach the famous Rainbow Mountain, Vinicunca. You’ll have about 3 hours to explore, admire, and photograph this breathtaking natural wonder. If you have extra time and energy, you can also discover the nearby Stone Forest, a fascinating hidden gem.

After the hike, you’ll return to the restaurant in Cusipata to enjoy a hearty and comforting lunch. Finally, you’ll head back to Cusco, arriving in the city around 5:00 p.m., where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel, marking the end of a day filled with unique and unforgettable experiences..

Day 8: From Cusco to Lima

After your breakfast, you’ll take a domestic flight from Cusco to Lima.

You’ll begin your city tour at Huaca Pucllana with a panoramic view of this important ceremonial center belonging to the Lima culture. Then, you’ll head towards the center of Lima, passing through the different neighborhoods of San Isidro, Lince, and Cercado. You’ll appreciate the Palace of Justice, the Lima Museum, the Museum of Italian Art, the French Palace, and the Plaza San Martín. Your pedestrian visit will begin in the Plaza de Armas, where, in addition to appreciating the Cathedral of Lima, the Municipal Palace, the Government Palace, and the Archbishop's Palace, you’ll also have a panoramic view of the Parque del Amor, the Pacific Ocean, and Larcomar.

After exploring Lima’s historical and cultural highlights, you’ll have the opportunity to savor its world-renowned cuisine. Whether it’s a classic ceviche, a refreshing pisco sour, or a visit to a local market, Lima offers an unforgettable culinary experience.

Day 9: Paracas & Ica

You’ll begin your journey with a transfer from your hotel in Lima to Paracas.

Ballestas Islands Tour: You’ll board a speedboat at the Tourist Marina Pier for a 2-hour ride. Along the way, you’ll enjoy stunning views of Paracas Bay and its peninsula. Before heading to the Ballestas Islands, you’ll stop to admire the mysterious Paracas Candelabra geoglyph. On the islands, you’ll see Humboldt penguins, sea lions, and a variety of birds like Peruvian boobies and pelicans.

Huacachina Tour: Next, you’ll head to Huacachina, a desert oasis. Your adventure will begin with an exciting ride in Polaris ROVs, exploring the golden dunes. Along the way, you’ll stop to sandboard, tackle the steep Patrick dune, and capture photos of the Oasis of America, a paradise in the desert. Afterward, you’ll return to Lima and transfer to your hotel for a restful end to a thrilling day.
